Investment continues with a new Extra Eye

Speedboard has invested in a new Extra Eye, for FAI (First Article Inspection). It is one of the most important steps of the PCB assembly process as every mistake from the Placement Machine setup multiplies into hundreds of incorrectly assembled PCBs if left unchecked. Therefore, it is extremely important to accomplish FAI with maximum accuracy. Manually performing a FAI by cross referencing between BOM and assembly drawing is open to error and is very time consuming.

Extra Eye is a tool or feature designed for First Article Inspection (FAI) allowing users to inspect printed circuit boards (PCBs) more efficiently by presenting key information such as the PCB image, Bill of Materials (BOM), and assembly drawing simultaneously. This setup improves inspection speed and reliability by giving inspectors quick access to all the necessary data without needing to switch between multiple sources or documents.

By having everything in one place, the inspection process becomes more streamlined, reducing the risk of errors, ensuring that the product meets specifications, and allowing for faster identification of any discrepancies between design and assembly.
