Sustainable Manufacturing, Built In From Day One

NOTE UK is the UK operation of NOTE, a Northern European and Asia contract electronics manufacturer and a UN Global Compact member since 2011. Sustainability is embedded in how we manufacture, not layered on top of it: we are working towards 100% carbon-neutral operations across all NOTE Group factories (Scope 1 & 2), we are extending climate reporting across our value chain in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (Scope 3), and every NOTE Group site is required to achieve ISO 45001 health and safety certification within two years of joining the group. For customers assessing manufacturing partners against ESG criteria, our sustainability performance is reported annually and independently referenced in the NOTE Sustainability Report.

Our Environmental Commitments

NOTE reports its environmental performance against the internationally recognised Greenhouse Gas Protocol, covering both our own operations and our wider value chain.

Carbon Neutral Operations

Scope 1 & 2 – Operations

We are working towards 100% carbon neutrality across all NOTE Group factories through:

  • Driving energy efficiency in every facility
  • Sourcing renewable or fossil-free electricity wherever possible
  • Maintaining full transparency on emissions reporting

Emissions totalled 46,501 tCO₂e in FY2025 – the majority of NOTE’s total group footprint of 48,212 tCO₂e (market-based, all scopes).
This includes:

  • Transparent emissions reporting for customers and stakeholders
  • Mapping emissions from suppliers, transport and product life cycles

Alongside our operational carbon-reduction measures, NOTE also invests directly in sustainability projects in East Africa as part of our wider environmental responsibility.

Health and Safety

NOTE UK places the health, safety and well-being of our employees, visitors, contractors and the public at the centre of everything we do. We operate under the UK Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and NOTE Group’s global Occupational Health & Safety Policy, with the goal of an accident-free workplace across all our sites.

Our approach includes regular risk assessments, comprehensive training and ongoing consultation with employees to prevent ill health and accidents, backed by accurate incident reporting and continuous review of controls and outcomes. As part of the NOTE Group, every site is required to achieve ISO 45001 certification within two years of joining the group, reinforcing our commitment to best-in-class safety standards.

Yes. NOTE has been a member of the UN Global Compact since 2011, committing to its ten principles covering human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. NOTE also publishes a CEO Statement of Support for the Women’s Empowerment Principles.

NOTE UK operates within the wider NOTE Group’s sustainability framework, which targets ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety) certification at every site within two years of joining the group. As of FY2025, 83% of NOTE Group plants (10 of 12) hold ISO 45001 certification, with 100% targeted by 2027. This sits alongside NOTE UK’s ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and AS9100 quality accreditations, and ISO 14001 environmental management certification (held by 10 of 12 group plants, with the remaining two targeted for 2027).

NOTE UK is working towards 100% carbon neutrality across all NOTE Group factories for Scope 1 and 2 emissions. Group-wide Scope 1 & 2 emissions totalled 1,711 tCO₂e in FY2025 (the group’s reporting baseline), with targets to cut this by 42% by 2030 and 90% by 2045. 59% of total energy consumption already comes from renewable or fossil-free sources.
