Ryan joined NOTE Stonehouse in July 2018. He had no prior experience in the electronics industry. Before joining NOTE, Ryan spent about six years as a MIG welder at G-TEM, a car manufacturer in Gloucester. After that, he moved to the purchasing department, where he worked for two years.
We caught up with Ryan this week to find out a bit more about his interests and what motivates him to succeed…
60 seconds with Ryan Middleton
What do you foresee as the biggest challenge in your job?
My biggest challenge is the changing market. Materials are harder to find, and lead times keep shifting. Yet, our team always finds a way to solve problems.
What three words best describe you?
Motivated, honest, and kind.
Where would you be and what activities would you usually engage in on a Tuesday morning?
I’m following up on yesterday’s emails. I also had a morning meeting with the team to talk about site activities.
What interests do you have outside of work?
Golf is a big hobby of mine. I haven’t played since lock down, but I will get out soon. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
If you weren’t working in the electronics industry, what would your ideal job be?
A professional golfer is possible, but I know that’s wishful thinking.
What is the best advice someone has given you?
If I’m ever unsure about something, I always ask the question (NOTE’s advice).
What are your three top tips for succeeding in life?
1. Always do what makes you happy.
2. Enjoy life to the fullest.
3. Treat others the way you wish to be treated.
