HomeElectronics component sourcing UK

Connect. Supply. Deliver.

Component sourcing is one of the most complex and risk-sensitive elements of electronics manufacturing. Shortages, long lead times, counterfeit components, and single-source dependencies can stop production lines and delay product launches. NOTE UK’s sourcing capability is built to manage these risks proactively – through a dedicated International Purchasing Office (IPO), a global approved supplier network spanning the UK, Europe, and Asia, and BOM management expertise that covers everything from standard catalogue parts to obsolete and long-lead items. Whether you supply your own components or require full turnkey sourcing, NOTE UK manages the supply chain so you can focus on your product.

NOTE Sourcing

NOTE UK sources electronic components through a vetted global supplier network – from UK and European distributors for short lead times and supply security, to Asia-based supply chains for volume pricing and availability. Our approved supplier base covers standard, specialist, and long-lead components across all major manufacturers and product categories.

Our dedicated International Purchasing Office (IPO) provides strategic procurement at scale – negotiating competitive pricing, managing long-term supply agreements, and securing availability for high-demand or constrained components. The IPO operates across our NOTE Group network, giving UK customers access to group-level purchasing power across Northern Europe and Asia.

NOTE UK manages the full BOM – from first purchase order through to goods receipt, incoming inspection, kitting, and lineside delivery. We monitor lead times, flag shortages early, manage safety stock where required, and provide supply status visibility throughout. Both full turnkey and consignment (customer-supplied) programmes are supported.

NOTE UK coordinates inbound component logistics and outbound product delivery through our logistics network – managing freight, customs documentation, and carrier relationships on behalf of customers. For NOTE Group programmes spanning multiple European or Asian sites, we coordinate cross-border supply to maintain production continuity across all locations.

Frequently Asked Questions – Electronics Component Sourcing

A: Yes. Under NOTE UK’s full turnkey model, we manage all component sourcing and procurement on the customer’s behalf – from BOM review and supplier selection through to purchase, goods receipt, incoming inspection, and lineside kitting. Customers provide the design; we manage the supply chain. This removes the cost and complexity of managing multiple component suppliers directly.

A: Yes. NOTE UK supports consignment programmes where customers supply their own components for assembly. We manage incoming inspection, kitting, and inventory control for consigned materials. Consignment programmes are typically used where customers have existing supplier relationships, framework agreements, or specific approved source requirements for their BOM.

A: The NOTE UK International Purchasing Office (IPO) is a dedicated procurement function that manages strategic component sourcing at group level. The IPO negotiates supply agreements, secures competitive pricing, and manages availability for constrained or high-volume components across the NOTE Group’s network spanning Northern Europe, Central Europe, and Asia – providing UK customers with access to group-level purchasing scale.

A: NOTE UK manages supply chain risk through a combination of early lead time monitoring, safety stock management for critical components, dual-sourcing strategies where available, and proactive communication with customers when constraints are identified. Our IPO and global supplier network provide alternative sourcing options when primary supply is disrupted – reducing the risk of production stoppages caused by component shortages.

A: Yes. NOTE UK purchases components exclusively from authorised distributors or directly from manufacturers – not from brokers or the grey market. This policy is applied across all programmes and is central to our component quality and authenticity assurance. Incoming inspection is applied to verify conformance on receipt. For programmes in defence or medical with specific traceability requirements, confirm your needs at the quotation stage.
