What do you foresee as the biggest challenge in your job?
Everyone knows about the global shortage of components. Lead times are also much longer now. This, together with a shortage of raw materials, makes purchasing very challenging. As buyers, we always seek the best prices and shortest lead times. Now, obtaining the product feels like a win.
What three words best describe you?
Loyal, hardworking, and kind.
Where would you be and what activities would you usually engage in on a Tuesday morning?
On Tuesday mornings, I sit at my desk. I search for components and place orders. I also check reports I try to run on Mondays. Then, I follow up on emails.
What interests do you have outside of work?
At the weekend, I love to walk with my rescue dog, Bob. In normal times, I love to travel, anything from skiing to visiting cities in Europe.
If you weren’t working in the electronics industry, what would your ideal job be?
I can answer this right away: I want to work for the Born Free Foundation in Kenya.
What’s the best advice someone has given you?
My friend always says, “It will be fine; you need a plan,” and she is correct; a plan can solve most things.
