The quality-focused engineering team at NOTE Windsor has had a busy year. Now, the workshop floor looks like a showcase for advanced manufacturing technology. We’ve added a new ERSA selective solder line. This investment doubles our soldering capacity. It also lets us work on mixed-technology boards with tighter tolerances. Installing a big machine is challenging, but the team showed their Windsor spirit. Engineering manager Martin Howard took charge. He hopped on the forklift to guide the unit into place. He ensured that he aligned every cable, nozzle, and extraction duct with precision!
Continuous improvement drives our operation. The ERSA line is part of an ongoing investment program that started in 2021. In that landmark year, we added a new surface-mount device line. We also installed a next-gen reflow oven for better thermal profiling. Plus, we brought in a DEK NEO Horizon screen printer to improve paste deposition accuracy. Our first selective solder line arrived with the rest. It demonstrated the stability and repeatability that customers need for their complex assemblies. We selected each piece of equipment after careful evaluation. We focused on three main factors: improved quality, reduced manufacturing costs, and reliable, on-time delivery.
Today, printed-circuit designs are denser, and components are more delicate. This strategy is paying off. The larger capacity helps us schedule jobs better. It cuts queue times during key stages. We can also use custom soldering profiles without slowing down production. Tighter process control means fewer defects and less rework. This leads to high first-pass yields. Our customers receive quality products, dependable lead times, and excellent prices because of this. In short, every investment strengthens the Windsor promise: quality without compromise.
